18th century Salon: An Evening of Games, Dueling, and Dance

Join us for an evening of 18th century games and frivolity. Experience traditional parlor games presented by Amy Wachtel, a Whist card game lesson by Gretchen Jacobsen, and a presentation on dueling with swords by History Now's Ken Johnston. There will be a cash bar with a signature drink from an 18th century recipe. Period finger foods and non-alcoholic punch provided by Catherine Caruso Thomas. Dance performances and lessons provided by members of Atlanta Historic Dance, and 18th-century-inspired decor by Events by Etienne. 18th century attire from any country is preferred; semi-formal is also welcome. Whet your appetite for February 11th's Outlander Ball Atlanta by immersing yourself in the diversions of the day!

Tickets: Take advantage of early bird pricing with $35 per person tickets, through January 13th. No tickets available at the door. Tickets are not refundable but you can transfer them to someone else. Just send us an email so we can update the list for check in.
Here are additional details about the event. Some of the other games that will be offered are Pickup Sticks, Backgammon, Checkers, Chess, Shut the Box, and Liar's Dice. Amy will be on hand to offer instructions for those who need it.
The cash bar options are beer, wine, and the signiture cocktail. The signiture cocktail is made using an 18th century recipe that includes rum, sugar, lime juice, bitters, and nutmeg.
The two country dances that will be taught are The Haymakers and a Comical Fellow. The evening will end with Sellenger's Round. The dance won't be taught but will be called.
